You Are BEAUTIFUL Just The Way You Are

In light of recent conversation, I have to ask, why the heck do looks matter so much in our society?! It is seriously ridiculous. Why do people feel the need to body shame others just to improve their own self esteem? This goes on both ends of the spectrum too. I am overweight, I am well aware of this. I also have done something about it over the years. If you look at my wedding pictures, I was much heavier then than I am now. To make it worse, I get asked all the time how far along I am. Umm, excuse me? First off I’m NOT pregnant. Second off, how is that ANY of your business if I was?!? Keep in mind it is typically customers at work who ask. It’s a real blow to my self esteem when people ask me things like that. Honestly I am relatively happy with where I am weight wise. I have naturally bigger boobs and my stomach has some excess jiggle to it, but I am in no way obese. Would I like to be toner? Sure I would and I am working towards that. However, I am working at MY pace and no one elses.

On the other side of the spectrum we have the thin girls who “need to eat a burger” as they seem to so commonly be told. My sister falls into this category and I know those comments hurt her just as much as comments about my weight hurt me. My sister is a size 0/1 for the most part and yes she looks it. She is built thin and no matter what or how much she eats, she just doesn’t gain weight. That’s just how her teenage body is made. There is nothing wrong with that! She does take care of herself and exercises, drinks a lot of water and eats fresh fruits and veggies. She is healthy! Isn’t that all that really matters?

In conclusion, let it be known that no matter how much you weigh or what you look like, you are beautiful just the way you are! You could be a size 2 or a 22 and it doesn’t matter. We should be focused more on being good people rather than how we look. We should be focusing on lifting others up rather than tearing them down for our own amusement and self gratification. Remember that no matter what, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
